Unable to Blend Image?
When using the Image Blender Canva app, it's important to understand the difference between graphics and images within Canva.
What the Image Blender App Does:
The Image Blender app allows you to seamlessly blend images, offering effects like linear, radial, or different blend modes,
However, the app only works with photos/images — not with graphics.
Understanding the Difference Between Graphics and Images in Canva:
Images/Photos: These are raster-based files (like JPG or PNG) that the Image Blender app can process.
Graphics: These are vector-based elements (like SVGs or Canva-specific graphic elements) that the app cannot blend directly.
How to Tell if You Selected a Graphic:
The Image Blender app has an automatic detection feature. If the "Blend Selected Image" button is disabled, that means you have selected a graphic element rather than an image.
Solutions to Blend a Graphic Element: If you want to blend a graphic, there are two simple workarounds:
Save the Graphic as an Image:
Download it as a PNG or JPG.
Upload the downloaded file back into Canva.
Now, the graphic is treated as an image, and you can use the Image Blender app.
Find a Similar Element as an Image:
Search Canva's photo library for a similar image.
Use that image instead of the graphic to achieve the blending effect.
